Our spotlight this week is on personal favorite of ours over here at Live From The Pit. The band we are spotlighting this week is Don Broco, this alternative rock band hails from Bedford, England. They formed in 2008 and the lineup currently consists of vocalist Rob Damiani, guitarist Simon Delaney, drummer and vocalist Matt Donnelly, and bassist Tom Doyle. They are currently signed to Sharptone Records which they released their latest album Technology on. Their sound has been described as alt-rock, pop-rock, and post-hardcore, if you know anything about those genres you will know that there are few similarities between the three. This just goes to show the diversity and creativity these guys put into their music. With a sound as unique as theirs they have been known for their awesome live performances supporting other artists, headlining their own shows, and playing festival slots.
These guys have been together for awhile now so naturally, they have hit the road a lot in the past thirteen years and have supported some huge names like, You Me At Six, Dance Gavin Dance, Billy Talent, 5 Seconds of Summer, Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park), and Bring Me The Horizon. Now, they have had many headliner tours over the year, especially in Europe where they have received support from the likes of, YUNGBLUD, Issues, Trash Boat, Neck Deep, and State Champs. They have appeared at festivals like, Reading & Leeds, The Vans Warped Tour, Slam Dunk, Sonic Temple, Rock am Ring, Download, Hit The Deck, and this next years Riot Fest. All of these shows they have played have been filled to the brim with material from any of their three LP’s and four EP’s they have released over the past years as a band.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Don Broco three times in the past in both the festival and club scenes. Each time I have been thoroughly impressed with how the shows that they put on, the high energy music coupled with high energy playing has and always will get the crowd going and excited. It has always been circle and mosh pits galore when Don Broco hits the stage, with the occasional wall of death of course. Now currently working on finishing up their fourth full length album, I believe Don Broco is going to hit us hard with the unique and creative sound that has made the who they are today. As a huge fan I already know the other fans are eagerly awaiting a release as it has been over a year since we have received new music from the British alt-rock front runners.
